The other flower of Scotland

One of the best things about this time of year is watching all the flowers bloom across the landscape from picture perfect manicured lawns to carpets of wild flowers spring up across our woodlands. One of the most beautiful of these wild flowers is the bluebell.

The UK is home to half the world’s population of this magnificent bloom and Scotland has over 2000 species, some of which are protected by law. At home in ancient woodlands all over Scotland, the bluebell has long been associated with fairies in folklore tales.

And now Orkney jewellery designer, Shelia Fleet, has immortalised this beloved wild flower in her striking new Bluebell collection. The range, which features vivid enamels set in sterling silver, includes earrings, bracelets, rings and pendants. The collection blends modernity with timeless elegance making it an ideal gift for all ages and tastes.

The Shelia Fleet Bluebell Range is available now from our Palace Gift Shop and don’t forget that Historic Scotland members get 20% discount.
